Zarya Ajasin

Staff
Hey there! I'm an undergrad at Georgia Tech studying Computational Media, where computing and design intersect. I've had the pleasure of working on designing impactful and equitable human-centered solutions to real-world social problems at different startups and community organizations over the years and I'm excited to be passing on that passion to youth through this program. I'm a lover of good design and good people, and you can usually find me at the local park reading a good philosophy book while listening to my favorite playlist.

Hello! I'm an undergrad at Dartmouth College studying Geography and Computer Science and am primarily interested in the intersection of social issues and technology. In my free time, I love reading, listening to music, and creating art (mainly painting or digital art).

I’m a recent graduate from UC Santa Cruz with a major in Computer Science: Game Design. I’m interested in art and technology that is functional and has a story to tell. In my downtime, I like to solve puzzles, create art, and watch tv shows.
Kiara Vincent

Staff
Kiara is a jack of many trades, and is currently most interested in exploring new applications of AR, learning guitar, and brewing the perfect batch of kombucha. With a history in game design, she is always on the lookout to design or play new interactive experiences of all sorts. Kiara loves empowering and helping to unleash creativity in others. She hopes to use games and similar mediums as tools to facilitate empathy and connectivity.

Coordinator
Hello! I'm an MIT Undergrad majoring in Urban Studies and Planning and Comparative Media Studies. I've worked both at community organizations and smaller game development gigs. My main interests are racial justice-centered youth work, game design, and using art for anti-oppression storytelling. In my free time, I love writing, watching nostalgic childhood TV shows (right now, it's Justice League), and taking care of my plants.
Summer 2021 Youth Participants
Chinh Ha (he/him)
I love eating, binge-watching anime and drama, and playing any games or sport (specifically Roblox or volleyball). I am looking forward to working with my groupmate to create a game because every coding project I did so far was solo.
Destiny McConville
I like watching Netflix, listening to music, cooking, cheerleading, and I like to have taboo conversations about societies issues. I hope this summer I actually get outside because COVID kept us inside for like 20 years.
Faria Zaman (she/her)
I am a student at Boston Latin School. Some things that I like are drawing, listening to music, playing video games, and cooking. I am hoping to learn more about game design and about social justice issues.
Hanan Shemsu (she/her)
A few of my hobbies are playing sports, taking photos, watching tv shows, and going out. This summer I would love to learn more game designs and use what I learn to create something that brings awareness to social injustices around the world.
Kiran Bhat (she/her)
Hey all! I’m a rising senior in high school and am looking forward to learning from everyone in this group and being a part of the special space that holds using art to combat injustice! I’m a lover of reading and writing poetry *bonus points if in a hammock*, running track and field, cooking or sharing good food with loved ones, film photography, perfectly named playlists, and attending to my (sometimes resentful because I don’t have a green thumb) plant babies.
Mauryon Lee (he/him)
Some of my hobbies/interest are gaming, art, writing, and making music. One thing that I hope to learn this summer is to how to make an interesting/ informative game that is fun to play and easy to get entertainment out of.
William Phie (he/him)
I enjoy sleeping as a hobby, and I hope to learn how to code and how to create games this summer.
